This is yet another in the China Bayles Series. In this book a ex-Ranger is found shot in his house. Was it suicide? Was it murder? The ex-ranger is being investigated by a reporter for a crime he worked on before he "retired" from the rangers. Did this have anything to do with it? China becomes interested in this mystery because the knows the wife and because McQuaid asked her to look into it. However, why is McQuaid so interested and where is he going when he says he is going to do research. Could it possibly be that he is with another women?
This book was full of twists and turns. I dont' like how China handled some of the situations, but then again we are different people!
