Taking the Fifth by J.A. Jance

Taking the Fifth is the 4th in the Beaumont series by J.A. Jance. A man is found dead and the only evidence found is a womens blue shoe. The more digging Beaumont does, the more the evidence talks. And the talking leads straight to Jasmine Day. Jasmine used to be addicted to drugs but is now doing her come-back tour singing solo. Beaumont soon decides that Jasmine is not the killer..however he doesn’t have anything to prove it. With the help of a women grieving the death of a son who claims he was working for the DEA (no proof he was) and the help of a taxi company dispatcher and a homeless lady, Beau is able to figure out who the real killer is.

I enjoyed this book – the first one so far where Beau doesn’t really get the women but that works out for the best.
