A Wild Ride up the Cupboards by Ann Bauer

This is a book about a husband and wife and their oldest son, Edward. The son is smart, seems to learn quickly and then at the age of 6 he changes. He seems to turn into himself and starts showing signs of being autistic. This is the story of their family (2 more children after Edward) and how the cope with his illness and each other.

I thought this book was very good. I wanted to know what was going to happen to each of the characters. I have never been around a child who showed autist symptoms and therefore don't know how real this story is. I would suggest picking up this book because it is a good read: the story is interesting, the characters are interesting.
