The Nazi Officer's Wife - the movie

I watched the movie version of The Nazi Officer's Wife this past weekend. It wasn't what I expected at all - but it was very good. I expected a movie version, with actors, etc. Instead this was more of a documentary of sorts. It had the author talking at times, her daughter commented on some stuff, and a narrator would read from the book and talk about her life while they showed clips of what was going on during that time. So you saw clips of Nazi's marching and of bombing, etc. I enjoyed it. I thought they did a great job. I think if I did it again I wouldn't watch it so close to reading the book...just because I could pick out what they didn't do, but overall I thought it was great. I thought it was good that the author talked about things and a lady asked her questions and these things weren't in the book.

So...for those who have read the book or plan to read the book...check out the movie, I found it interesting.

I think I put this on my Netflix list. I need to double check. I know I meant too. I am glad for your review because now I have a better idea of what to expect when I do see it.
