Sky Taylor writes as a newspaper column and cleans for a living. She is cleaning one of the B&B's and notices a dark smudge on the wall. She is able to get it out but hears a cat meowing. She knows this cat belongs to a friend from out of town who is staying at the inn. She knocks but nobody answers, and she remembers his car wasn't in the parking lot. She lets herself into the room and finds the cat...but also finds her friend...dead.
She becomes a suspect in the police investigation and with the help of a fellow newspaper journalist she tries to figure out the mystery.
This is the first in the series. I liked Sky and the other characters as well. I plan on reading more in the series as they are published, this is the only one right now. This was also the first read for the cozy mystery series
