Sloan used to work for the FBI but then in a robbery attempt gone bad her hand was damaged. Now she works as a consultant while she tries to get her handy better so she can join the FBI again.
One of her childhood friends has gone missing. She has been missing for over a year. The parents contact Sloan in hopes she can turn up some new leads. Sloan soon realizes that her friend didn't run away, it looks like she was kidnapped. Then another kidnapping takes place. While working with the FBI agent in charge of this case, Derek, she soon realizes the kidnappings are related and by the same person. The scary part, it looks like Sloan might be the reason why these women are disappearing.
Mix into this investigation the fact that Derek and Sloan used to date and had a bad break-up, they must deal with that while working together to find the killer before it's too late.
This is the first book I have read by Andrea Kane. My Mom kept telling me to read her stuff but I kept putting it off. I'm glad I finally picked this one up. I plan to read more.
