Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday

This is the 1st in the series.
Maddie Springer shows up at her boyfriends work, his law office, for their lunch date. Richard comes out of the office with a man Maddie has never seen before and Richard doesn't look happy. When she asked him about it, Richard says it's nobody. Then Richard cancels his lunch date, and disappears.
Maddie decides to try and find Richard, and runs into my nobody from the office. It turns out that Richard is involved in an embezzling scam and my nobody is the detective in charge of the case.
Maddie is told not to continue looking into the disappearance of her boyfriend, but she is "late" and is too scared to take a pregnancy test. She decides she needs to find Richard because there is no way he could be involved and she could possible be pregnant.
Maddie and the cop, Ramirez, continue to run into each other and soon the sparks are flying. Maddie learns some not so great things about her boyfriend, but for some reason continues to look into the murder.
I have no idea why I waited so long to read this book. I loved it! Maddie is a great character. The different situations Maddie finds herself in are unbelievable and very funny. I think this is a great cozy mystery.
