Chick Lit Challenge 2010 - fail

I had planned, or challenged myself, to read 8 books for the Chick Lit Challenge.  I read 6.  However, one thing I've realized is that I'm not a huge fan of chick lit anymore. I used to love it, now I don't seem to like it that much.  It appears, the reason I haven't been reading a lot of chick lit the last couple of years is because my reading habits have changed.  And I'm ok with that.   In fact, knowing this, I plan to weed out some of my books and get rid of some chick lit that I don't think I'll ever get to.     I'm not saying I won't read chick lit anymore, I know I will, but I think I'll be more selective in what I do read.

6 out of 8 is good, Kris! I kind of feel the same way about chick lit. I don't like them as much as I used to. Though I guess I go through phases. I also tend to like the YA chick lit better because they are just more fun.

BookAddict - you're right..ya chick lit is a lot of fun. I think I have a couple of those I plan to read in 2011.

I used to enjoy chick-lit to but now I don't read it often. I take that back, I have about four authors that I have continued to read their new releases but I'm not adding to this list.

The good news is... now you know that you don't enjoy this genre as much as you used to and can move on.

Mari - I wonder what it is? Several people I've talked to recently have also mentioned moving away from chick lit.

I think where you are in your life definitely plays a part in what you are drawn to reading wise. I know it does for me.

You did great with this challenge, Kris.

Literary Feline - Thanks! I think you're right too, our reading tastes change depending on what's going on with our life and where we are. It's always interesting to see what I lean towards.
