This is the first in the series - and I plan on reading the rest. The main charactors are wonderful, I loved Max and Annie.
Annie owns a mystery bookstore on a tiny Island in South Carolina. Each Sunday she gets the local mystery writers together for a chat and each author gives a speack or talks to the others about certain topics. One sunday Elliot, one they all dislike, hints that he is working on a true-crime novel that will reveal all the secrets these other mystery writers have. Elliot is then killed at the next session and the chief of police wants to pinn it on Annie. Max and Annie do everything they can to clear her name by finding the real killer.
