Just Desserts by Mary Daheim

This is the first in the series, I really enjoyed it. I like the two main charactors, Judy and her cousin. Judy runs a bead-and-breakfast. She decides to let the famouse and rick Broadie family stay while their house is being worked on. The family decides to hire a fortune teller to come while they are there. While the fortune teller is busy telling them things she suddenly grabs her chest and dies. The police arrive and won't let anybody leave until this is solved, because the fortune teller died due to poison.
The story was fun because while you have the police there asking questions, you have Judy trying to solve it herself to get rid of the family, while at the same time having to take care of their meals, and you have the crazy family fighting and just plan being nuts.

I like just about everything by Mary Daheim. If you haven't read ityet, Bantam of the Opera is a fun read. By the time my sister and I started writing the Silver Sisters Mysteries, we had read many of her books. I liked Anne George, too. It's a shame there won't be any more Southern Sisters books.
