Book blog, personal blog, or both?

So here's the dilimma. I currently have two blogs. I love the design of both blogs. But sometimes I think some of the stuff I post on my non-book blog would be found funny by some of my book blog readers. and I'm not sure they are reading/following both blogs. Did that make sense?

So I'm thinking of combining the two. I would keep this blog, but just start posting all the random stuff to this blog as well.

Before I did that though, I thought I would poll my readers. What do you think? Do you prefer coming this blog and mostly just reading about books? Do you like reading about non-book stuff to? Should I combine my blogs? Should I leave things as they are?

I thought it would be fun to create a poll instead of asking you to comment (plus it would be easier for me!). So the poll can be found on this blog on the right side, under my reading stats area.

I am going to post this same info on my other blog, so if you follow that one, please only vote once!

Thanks!

Kris

I may be in the minority here, but I like some personal stuff on a book blog - that way I feel like I get to know the blogger better.

Thanks for the feedback bermudaonion - that's how I feel these days too. I also think that if I combined them, you guys would get to know me better, and that might help you with my reviews too.

I'm sitting on the fence here, and it's darned uncomfortable. You see, I have three blogs: one for books, one for my travel tales, and one for humor, a lot of my photography, etc. I could probably combine the other two, but I wanted the main focus of my book blog to be books. I've added some text to my sidebar directing people to visit my other blogs if they want to get to know me better, and I think I'm going to leave it at that. Well, other than working on adding personal bits here and there to posts! I just don't want to run the risk of adding too much personal stuff and having readers who are wanting book info be turned off because there's too much photography, humor, etc.

I've been interrupted three times by my husband needing help with tasks, so I hope this made sense! LOL

I also like the personal stuff on a book blog. Somehow it makes you seem more "real"! lol

I vote for combining them....my blog is a one huge mash-up with a big chunk of books. :)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts so far!

Cathy - I'm on the fence but leaning towards combining. I had seperate ones for the same reasons you mentioned, but noticed I don't post often on my person one....

I also agree with the rest of you, I've come to enjoy the personal messages on other book blogs.

I'm in the same boat as Cathy. 4 blogs Books, Crochet projects, Pirate Bendy, and then the random stuff that fits nowhere else. The Pirate blog has to stay separate, but I've toyed with combining the others. I keep going back to keeping the book blog about books with tabs at the top of all the blogs linking them. I've used sidebar info to show that the other blogs are out there.

It seems that every time I get close to combining them, I talk myself out of it.

I think I'm with the majority here. I like some personal stuff on book blogs. But then, we're fellow ARMies, right? So I don't only know what's on your blog anyway ;)

I don't really know how to vote. I didn't know you had another blog. I have two seperate blogs too. I don't mind non book stuff on book blogs, if it doesn't interest me I just pass it is all. So I wouldn't mind, but it doesn't really matter either way.

Coming in late now that the poll is closed- I say combine. It's just that much easier on you. I asked people the same question last fall and it was overwhelmingly in the "combine" camp. I do have a separate sewing blog, but I'm hoping to make it a little bit commercial, and I don't want that on a personal blog.
