Non-Fiction Five Challenge - wrap-up post

I have to admit, sheepishly, that I didn't compelte this challenge. I'm kicking myself for not completing it because I really wish I had. Here's my problem. I like non-fiction books, there are some topics that totally interest me and I want to read more about them but whenever I go to pick up a non-fiction book I just don't want to! They rarely draw me in like others do. Yet, once I settle down with one I end up liking it (for the most part). So...try as I might, I just couldn't do it, again, this year.

My original list:
War Letters by Andrew Carroll
Love, Mom by Doree Shafrir and Jessica Grose
The Stranger Beside me by Anne Rule
Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Kaffir Boy in America by Mark Mathabane

Here's what I did read:
Love, Mom by Doree Shafrir and Jessica Grose
The Rise and Fall of the Dilinger Gang by Jeffery S. King
In the Land of Cotton by Martha A. Taylor

At least I read 3 books right? That's better than 50%. haha!

Oh, well, at least you gave it a shot.

I didn't complete this one either, but you managed to do much better than I did. :-) I'm like you. I do like reading nonfiction, but the fiction tends to draw me in more.

Bermudaonion - That's true - at least I tried.

Literary Feline - there's just something about the fiction books isn't there? haha!

Hey, I fail at challenges too. They're supposed to be fun, so just put this one behind you and move on!

Beth - Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm glad I did this one, even though I didn't finish it. It got me out of my comfort zone and I'm happy with the ones I read. So that's all worth it, right?

Congratulations anyway, 3 is better than none I say! :)

Ms Ulat Buku - Thanks and I agree...3 is better than 0.

3/5 is still pretty good! Honestly, I barely squeaked by finishing and its my own challenge! :) I hope you'll join us again next year. Maybe try some memoirs--I find they read more like fiction (The Glass Castle is fantastic).

Trish - Thanks! I haven't decided if I'm going to do it again next year or not.
