Monkeewrench by P.J. Tracy

Monkeewrench is a team of programers who design games. Their latest game consists of the player being a cop/investigator and tracking down a serial killer by finding all the clues at the scene to eliminate suspects. The game isn't for sale yet, but somebody doesn't care. Suddenly there is a serial killer out there who is following the game in real life. The local Minneapolis police start looking into the monkeewrench employees and find that their past only goes back 10 years.

A small town in Wisconsin is also dealing with a murder of it's own. A man and a wife were found murdered in their church, when the detectives go to their house to look around, they find it rigged and very high security. Then something in this investigation seems to link to the Monkeewrench investigation.

This book was great! I don't know why I waited so long to read it, I've had it on my shelf for awhile. ok, I do know why I waited so long - it's 404pgs long which means it's a chunky for me. haha!

I loved the cops - there actually wasn't a character in this book that I didn't like. Two of the main cops you dealt with were Magozzi and Gino. I thought they were great characters, they were series and knew when to get the job done but were also funny at times. I like the way this story played out. I thought it moved very fast and kept my interest. This is the first in the series, and even if the others are chunksters I look forward to reading them.

Hi Kris. I am caught up in this series and have loved it. I like to stay clear of books over 400 pages as well, but these go fast. :)
