Have you ever fallen out of love with a favorite author? Was the last book you read by the author so bad, you broke up with them and haven’t read their work since? Could they ever lure you back?
Unfortunatly, this has happened to me. The author: Patricia Cornwell. I devoured her books as soon as they hit the shelves. Then....that all changed. She reached a point in the Kay Scarpetta series where I think she probably should have ended it instead of trying to come up with something new to write about. The books just got worse and worse and I finally stopped reading them. I think I stopped about 2 books ago. However, I do recommend the Kay Scarpetta series to people still. I just warn them that towards the end I stopped reading because I didn't like them anymore.

Yes, I had exactly the same experience. Everything became so dark and miserable and so self-pitying. I think I gave up a couple of books before you but I still miss the excitement of the early ones.
I've always wanted to try the Patricia Cornwall books. The fact that you still recommend them means I may add them to my TBR list. And I just added Midori at Midnight to my list yesterday.
We agree on this one. I'm still ranting about the latest one to anyone who'll listen. I really felt cheated by that one. I'm not even sure what made me read it.
I read a couple of Cornwall's books. They weren't bad, but I just didn't have the desire to keep on reading them!!
Happy Thursday!!
You're the second person to mention this series. I may have to catch up just to see what you're talking about. I loved her first books but stopped with the one before Black Notice (I think)

Patricia Cornwell is one of my heartbreaks too. I loved her earlier books, but had to call it quits after too many disappoints.
Hmm...interesting, because I feel the same way about Laurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series...
