Simple Description:
Julie Mueller has always been in love with Michael Slayton.  The problem was that Julie's mother, while she loved Michael, didn't want her daughter to date him.  Julie made a pass at Michael when she was 17, he didn't return the favor.  She moved on to get pregnant, get married, get divorced.   He married and divorced as well.  While her older brother remained in contact with Michael, Julie and Michael stopped talking 6 years ago.

Julie is a reporter and she published a piece that ruined the politician that Michael was working for.  They didn't see eye to eye on it and, well, stopped talking.

Now Julie and Michael have been forced back together.  They were both tricked in to taking a dessert baking class and started talking again. This comes at a time when Julie's world seems to start falling apart.  Will she be able to lean on Michael or will she push him away or will he not have the same feelings for her that he once did?

My Thoughts:
I thought this book was really good. It was pretty faced paced, I'm surprised I read it as fast as I did.  I can't say I loved the book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Sometimes I felt Julie was too whiny, but at the same time I had a feeling there's a good chance I could react the same way she did if I had been in her position.  She hasn't had things extremely easy.   I also think that the way Jill and Michael interacted is pretty true. I could totally see myself doing the same thing. haha!

All in all - likable characters, a good story, and a fast read. What more could you ask for?

It's funny but when I saw the cover I got a good feeling. I knew I'd read the book but couldn't remember when so I looked it up on my blog and found this link:

I think I felt the same as you! Makes me want to read another book by Strohmeyer.

This sounds fun, and I love the cover. It's made me hungry, though.

I've enjoyed all of Strohmeyer's books that I've read. We should both read more of her books.

Anna - the cover did make me want a cupcake, or three.

I absolutely loved her Bubbles series & was sad at the end of it, so I will be on the lookout for this book.

Veggie - I really enjoyed her bubbles books too! This is the 2nd or 3rd stand alone I've read by the author and I've enjoyed them all, hopefully you will too.
